Music Monday: PS22 of NYC

Long time, no post right?

Well, I had to get vigilant with the job searching, (GOT ONE! WOOO-HOOOO!!), as well as make sure I get through this semester with good grades.

I have to go take an exam in 30 minutes, but I wanted to post the following video beforehand:

I got CHILLS watching this, because the looks on these little babies' faces are absolutely priceless. Seeing how much they feel it, and how much doing this means to them, brought tears to my eyes.

I can easily recall that feeling, as most of my entire childhood was spent in numerous choruses and small singing groups. Seriously, there's something about that first time hearing yourself blending and connecting with other voices. It's like your soul goes flying, and nothing can really compare.

WOWEE WOWWEE WOW WOW: Toyota iQ

A sweet little compact car is coming to the US that is far better than the SmartCar; more spacious and less expensive.

I have been waiting since late last year to get a Suzuki Splash lookalike in America, and it's finally arriving in the form of the Toyota iQ. Re-branded as a Scion, the iQ will be $15,000 or less, with 56 mpg. That is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

If I can't get my hot little hands on the classic compacts, (Fiat 500, Multipla, or VW Bug), I will definitely settle for this new, adorable automobile.

Wishlist Wednesday: Jenna Lyons

Yesterday, I finally received this month's Domino in the mail.

I count how good an issue is by how many of those nifty flagging stickers are used, and this issue has 9 little tabs sticking out. (Most of which went towards Jenna Lyons' feature.) I even dreamed about her place last night, wishing and hoping and thinking that I could inhabit a home just like it.

The weathered and warped wood flooring in the bathroom, the dark and romantic wall color, the spot-on, perfect pops of yellow.. *drool* It's uncluttered, beautiful, and still functional. Seems the perfect place to refresh yourself, and just be.

I also really adore the closet, (if you can call it that!)
It exemplifies what's so great about the entire home: the eye for balancing the neutral palette with the dark accessories and use of bright colors.

It comes across as so easy and natural. I AM IN LOVE.

Rita Konig.. I'm in love with your home

(Yea I'm on hiatus, but I couldn't resist posting about my deep infatuation for Rita Konig's small space!)

I received my Domino mag on Tuesday and have since picked it up and flipped to Rita's feature more times than I can count.
She's even posed foreground of a Fiat 500! It's everything I want.

I'm specifically head over heels, heart skipping a few beats, about the bedroom.

The masculine touch of the coverlet and the side table, balanced by the extra girly hearts sheets and gorgeous wallpaper is killing me softly.

Geez, I want to move in right now.

I am absolutely head over heels in love with Anthropologie's A Fall Formula

It made me gasp and stare, eyes wide, because it is everything I love and more. The colors, the layering! BE STILL MY HEART.

LOVE: Kanye West

I didn't think it was possible, but Kanye West's performance at the VMAs made my heart grow three times bigger.

*Viacom is snatching up the actual performance footage but enjoy the audio & visuals below.

It was so raw and earnest that I didn't even care about the vocal strength.
He always seems so eager to raise the bar and share a tangible passion, and he can't be faulted for any of that. Although, I was getting beyond sick of the auto-tune usage (I'm looking at you T-PAIN), he brought something fresh to the sound. It's a great song and he kills me with his eye for both style and art.

Here he is looking mighty sharp during Fashion Week.

Love the glasses and the suit looks super relaxed without a tie.

Fashion Week: Collegiate chic with a twang

There are almost too many great choices for menswear this Fall! I expect every guy to step his game up this season, because these lines are seriously bringing something I adore.

► First up is Andre Benjamin with his Benjamin Bixby collection (sold at Barneys NY):

The only word to describe it is dapper. The line, inspired by "U.S. prep style and by college football from the 1930's," is absolute fashion genius. I personally don't want every dude to walk around thinking they're as fly as Andre Benjamin, but an upgrade from this lookalike mess going on now is much needed! Shoot, I am so stoked to get my hands on at least a shirt. I'll rock the hell out of it.

Here's hoping they get a site to really display this good stuff.

When WR first debuted, I was not feeling it at all. The idea was ok but the end result was less than desirable to me. However, they've upped the ante with the website and the tailored men's jackets are stunning. I also really like a few complete women's outfits, despite it looking as if they fell apart on the bottom halves.

I constantly check up on this blog and business, and they never cease to amaze. If you don't know what fresh really is, take a look at the BKC site and find out. The styles showcased there transcend all definitions.

I just hope people take the time out to individualize their 'fits. Everything in moderation right?

Just now I feel pretty nearly perfectly happy.

I've always imagined myself in adventures, in some faraway land of rolling mists and dramatic love stories. LM Montgomery's novel series was my first literary introduction to that type of world, but it was genuine and funny. Anne Shirley was the heroine of my younger years because she found her 'ideal' in Gilbert Blythe, a 'bosom friend' in Diana, and stayed true to herself.

I try every day to be more like her, and I think a lot of folks would benefit from a little Anne Shirley insight.
